This little nugget was barely 10 days old, Katie and her husband had just moved into this new house in Deerfield, and we had a stormy day for the session - but despite all the mayhem I'd say we got some pretty stunning portraits of baby Luca. Katie asked so many wonderful questions before we had the session, and I was able to guide her through some simple but necessary steps to make the session go off without any problems. A big thing for newborns is to have the house nice and warm, like five degrees hotter than normal. This ensures that the baby will be comfortable when they are without any blankets. The other big tip is to make sure your newborn is fed, changed, and on the edge of a nap. That way your baby will sleep through the majority of the session. Baby Luca did a wonderful job, and I am so in love with all of these portraits.

With the perfect amount of clouds in the sky, Katherine, Brian, and I set out to get some engagement portraits in the Mill Ruins Park and Minnehaha Falls area. These two actually had one of their first dates at Minnehaha Falls! Such cuties. Katherine came with all these great ideas for the shoot, including the "&" sign and the first letters of their names. A photographer's dream! The shoot went without a hitch and I'd say we got some lovely shots.
